I'm working on another post, and while it's in progress, I thought I'd expand from my previous post Self.Observation. and provide an update.
As noted, in the post, I had stopped drinking sugary beverages cold turkey for a few days (Fri-Tues), I am proud to point out I have now been soda and juice free for an entire week.
I'd love to tell you I have all sorts of energy, and how my life and body are significantly better, though this hasn't happened. Well, I mean, I feel better and up lifted for a few reasons.
The first reason is I'm pretty near over the cold. Using nothing more than some essential oils, decent sleep, water, lemon and honey, and the Chinese cold medicine I picked up, combined with the lack of sugar, acid and other chemicals mixed in with those drinks. I am feeling better. One day, when my/our generation is older, at middle age, hopefully society will look at this phase of our lives and consider it the equivalent of when our parents were young and smoked cigarettes and to society it was cool, despite all the evidence to the contrary. That's us. Right now. Coca-Cola is the new Phillip Morris.
The second reason is I've been doing more yoga this month because of my schedule changes and now it's at 3 times a week, and this week, it's been 4! I do various other types of exercise.... like masterbating, I read somewhere on the internet this activity burns calories! You know I'm messing with you... well, about it being exercise. Lol. You're either laughing or disgusted right now. If the latter, run along little one. Run along.
Weather changes. Lately, the weather has been "clear skies" and I'm sure they are, above the sky-covering pollution. It sounds bad but really it's no different than a cloudy day. It's also made the days a little cooler, like all the way down to 23°!!! I'm as surprised saying that as you are. The slight change in weather is appreciated.
My diet has improved marginally, though there is still room for massive tuning. Imagine how ripped I'd be if I ate healthy, exercised with weights and yoga and didn't have sugar drinks - Mr Olympia here! Seriously though. One night yoga had an intense ab session, I didn't eat fried rice immediately after and wash it down with [insert sugar/acidic drink] and the increased definition (which was visible within minutes of doing the workout) stayed longer! Tbh, I actually have no idea how my body has kept my six pack and shape, and even lost weight since high school, while I literally eat like a pig with a death wish for intenstine failure. It's the "instant food when I want it" factor. Talk about killer convenience. I'm actually aweful at preparing and bringing food with me.
So, basically, I do feel better than when not consuming sugary drinks, though there are other factors and variables at play here. The point was, I thought it would be good to share I've made it a week without these beverages and will try my best to continue it. Perhaps I should get a carbonating machine. One thing I love about coca-cola is the carbonated feel. I use essential oils/honey/lemon slices to flavour my water so carbonation seems like the next feasible step to continuing my habit with an alternative product of input.
