Yesterday was my birthday and it was an amazing time! I'd like to express my thanks to all who messaged me and wished me well, Cheers.
The past year has been explosive! There have been plenty of opportunities, growth, adventure and new people. I have visited a few Chinese cities, had 4 different jobs, taught hundreds of children English, discovered giving and receiving unconditional love, seen smog so thick you couldn't see anything out the window, visited India, Singapore and Malaysia, became a certified yoga instructor, discovered Paulo Coelho, made international friends, started a blog, bought three paintings to start my art collection while abroad, met online international friends in person, made a new best friend in China who lived 2 hours from Toronto and plenty more.
My material possessions with me now include a few days worth of clothes, toiletry bag, yoga mat/blocks, iPhone & iPad, jacket/shoes, two physical books and the backpack itself (50L or ~2.5 school sized backpacks). I can even fit the yoga mat and blocks inside the bag!
At the end of June, my resident status expires, and I'll have to find a new country to live in! Whichever one is right, Im sure will present itself when necessary. When living abroad, there are always possibilities to go anywhere and at any time. Things my not go according to your plan, but they always work themselves out. An intentional effort is made to live in the now and trying not to plan more than 3 months ahead. You'd be surprised how much you can accomplish.
I believe everything in our life happens in order for what's next to be possible. With a positive mindset and good energy, the events and circumstances which are of most benefit will enter our life. Trust in your intuition and lead with your heart. Breathe. Use the mind only for fixing and solving the problems that arise along the way. It makes a dedicated servant but a harsh master.
This past year has been about understanding I can build a life for myself, anywhere I want in the world. There are many beautiful people and they will enter my life at the appropriate time. I accept my life, the place I'm currently in and thankful for all that has happened to me.
